Capitol Shrine Bowl

|
The Capitol Shrine Bowl is designed to promote the Northern California
Jr College Championship Game as well as the SYF (CA) and SYFL (NV) youth
all star game. This event is held traditionally on Thanksgiving
weekend at Hughes Stadium on the campus of Sacramento City College. |

This event is hosted by the Ben Ali Shrine Temple of
Northern California and the Kerak Shrine Temple of Northern
Nevada. All proceeds from this game help support the children's
transportation fund of each respective temple. The success of the
well-known East West Shrine Bowl was the inspiration to bring this event
to Sacramento. Every youth program in welcome to nominate 1
football player and 1 cheerleader for participation. The
participants are selected by the Capitol Shrine Bowl
committee. |

Last years participants raised over $70, 000 for the Ben
Ali Fund. Two of last year's participants were selected to
participate as ball boys for the 82nd Annual East West All Star Game
held in Houston, TX, January 2007 . Both were on the sidelines
with NFL Hall of Famers, such as Don Shula and Dan Reeves. |
